Arm girdles and compression gloves are used in cases of lymphedema (following mastectomy). They are knitted in such a way as to offer the best compromise between contention and comfort.

At Bandagisterie Orthopédie Brasseur, our technicians are INAMI-approved to supply arm girdles and compression gloves. They systematically measure the limb to be compressed, so as to be able to provide the best compression solution.

At Brasseur Bandagisterie we are committed to:

1. Prescription compliance

the compression class and type of knit for the compression arm girdle and/or glove are vital information determined by the prescription.

2. Precise and complete measurement

the entire upper limb according to the model, to determine the right size for each patient. If there are no suitable arm girdles and/or compression gloves, we opt for a made-to-measure solution.

3. Choosing a highly elastic or low-elastic knitted fabric

For the same amount of restraint, a low-elasticity arm girdle and/or compression glove will be more effective than a high-elasticity equivalent.

In fact, an arm girdle and/or compression gloves with low elasticity will be more effective in countering limb volume gain.

4.ensure that the patient is eligible for social security benefits

At Bandagisterie Orthopédie Brasseur, our technicians are approved by
INAMI to supply medical compression stockings: we make sure that patients are informed about the regulations of the Assurance Maladie Invalidité.

5.provide medical compression stockings as soon as possible

We have a large stock of arm girdles and/or medical compression gloves from manufacturers who are members of the “Gütezeichengemeinschaft Medizinische Kompressionsstrümpfe” quality brand association for medical compression stockings. This enables us to satisfy our patients’ needs as quickly as possible.

6. Directions for use

To help you use your stockings in the best possible way, we are committed to
training your patients and giving them advice on how to use and care for their stockings, so that they retain their therapeutic qualities for as long as possible.

Donning and doffing technique: a correct donning and doffing technique
is essential. Certain accessories can also facilitate these operations: the use of special gloves provides “life insurance” for arm girdles and/or compression gloves, and facilitates donning and doffing.
