For scoliosis – Boston

Orthopedic treatment corsets are designed to stabilize spinal deviations in cases of scoliosis or kyphosis. They will treat existing deformities and enable the spine to evolve more harmoniously throughout the rest of bone growth. As the child’s morphology evolves, so will that of the teenager. There are different types of corset to suit every individual, depending on:
– age
– curvature topography
– pathology evolution
– etiology
– treatment On medical prescription, these personalized medical devices are delivered and adapted only by qualified and accredited professionals: orthotists… Design
There are four stages in the creation of a corset:
– Taking measurements and impressions.
– Fitting: an important step in ensuring comfort and correction.
– Delivery: the orthotist validates the corset with the medical team. He or she will advise the patient on how to fit it, and provide instructions on use and care. – Follow-up: throughout the treatment, the orthotist may, if necessary (in the event of morphological change, growth, evolution of the pathology, etc.), make modifications to the corset. Wearing a corset can present certain constraints, but the outcome of the treatment depends on good cooperation between the patient, parents, doctor, physiotherapist and orthotist.
